FAQs

What makes the Bull Dawg Top different from other hardtops?
Every Bull Dawg hardtop is built with advanced composite technology for strength and long-term durability. Four sets of structural reinforcements run along the roof to prevent flexing or sagging, even over time. This helps reduce wind noise and prevents leaks, even at highway speeds.
We also offer exclusive options like a sunroof, roof racks, upper doors, sliding or side-opening windows.
What Wrangler models has Jeep released over the years?
Here’s a quick breakdown:
- YJ: 1987–1995
- TJ: 1997–2006
- LJ (Wrangler Unlimited): 2004–2006
- JK: 2007–2018 (available in both 2-door and 4-door versions)
Note: There was no Wrangler released in 1996. The LJ had a longer wheelbase and body but was only produced for three years, which is why many manufacturers skipped making LJ hardtops. We proudly offer a hardtop for this model.
Which hardtops and upper doors do you currently manufacture?
We currently offer:
- Hardtops and upper doors for TJ (1997–2006)
- Hardtops for LJ (2004–2006)
- Hardtops for 2-door JK (2007–2018)
- Upper doors for YJ (1986–1995)
A YJ hardtop is currently in development and will be crafted with the same level of quality and detail as our existing models.
How do your hardtops attach to the Jeep?
Each hardtop secures at the windshield using two adjustable camlocks that clamp it down to the factory gasket. A third camlock position is available for added hold.
Along the Jeep tub, three knobs with washers and bolts secure each side. All mounting holes align with factory holes, making installation simple. Most installs take about 30 minutes. We strongly recommend reviewing the instructions before you begin.
6. Is it hard to install the top? Can I do it myself?
Installing the hardtop is easier than removing the soft top. Once the soft top and hardware are removed, two people can lift the hardtop (about 125 lbs) and place it on the Jeep. No tools are required.
